Great Work

Very informative

Excellent & thorough source of info for wisconsin campersI do hate rvs, concrete slabs, and loud portable stereos when I am camping. This book thoroughly rates each campground according to scenic attractions, quiet (close to highways, noise), privacy, spaciousness, upkeep, and security. It lets you know some history about each campground, attractions of each, such as types of trees and fish that can be caught in nearby or on-site rivers and lakes. I really appreciate knowing which campgrounds need reservations and which are first-come first served. And there's some history about each area to boot.
What is especially nice about this book is how the author rates individual site numbers within the campgrounds - absolutely necessary information if you're making a reservation at a campground you haven't been to before, and are lloking for something specific, such as privacy. I was looking for a site on a lake shore that required boat (not car) access, and I found it pretty quickly. I was looking for a nice site near waterfalls, and there it was. I was looking for something private and spacious in a specific part of the state, and the book laid it all out for me. I was looking for something on a bluff or hillside that had a commanding view, and wasn't disappointed.

A book for the millenium that doesn't neglect social justiceFirst though, it is a treat for the eyes. Nalbandian combines his own work--panoramic views of the city as well as striking character portraits and scenes from the Intifada--with selections from the 19th century for an absorbing visual display. They are alone comprehensive in portraying the cultural, religious, and political history of the people of Bethlehem and surrounding areas.
Yet, do not let these pictures distract you from the accompanying text. Raheb and Strickert have supplemented their commentary on Bethlehem's history and current events with several sidebars giving the reader an in-depth look at the origins of issues which have shaped Bethlehem. Perhaps the most vital of these is the story of Caliph Omar in the Church of the Nativity, a major determinant of relations between Christians and muslims in Bethlehem for centuries to come. Also included are selections from the Bible and Koran, regional poets, and a song for the Daheisha refugee camp. Examples of Arabic art and calligraphy are also included.
This is a book which follows the mystery of Christ's birth and the holy sites so many visitors come to see. But it is a book also about the people who continue to live and work in this place, who are so often forgotten among the ancient stones. The authors entreat you not to forget these struggling, strong people, the 'living stones' of the Holy Land.
Read this book for Christmas as the world contemplates that 'little town' of long ago, even if you never make a visit. If you are going to Bethlehem someday, read this book now. If you have been to Bethlehem already, read it and learn what you likely have missed on your journey. Seek to understand. Seek peace.

Iron clad argument as to the roots of the conflictA must read for anyone having anything to do with the region.

Between Sodom and Eden - appeals to a broad audience!

Extraordinary, VisionaryThis book goes beyond looking at biofeedback as a treatment and enters the realm of wisdom, consciousness and spirituality. For example, Elmer believes that EEG theta training at OZ is a former of "instrumental Vipassana" which enables the trainee to access planetary consciousness.
Elmer and Alyce Green were highly involved in starting a number of visionary organizations which have made their mark on this planet. These include:
Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (aapb.org) International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine (ISSSEEM) Association of Transpersonal Psychology
Elmer has a new book out titled The Ozawkie Book of the Dead. It goes much further in exploring the spirit world, consciousness and levels of being beyond those we ordinarily know. It is only available from the publisher at this time...
